DOG’S OWN COUNTRY

A dog friendly pub and hotel in heart of the Dales.

If you have a dog and are looking to bring your best friend with you to the Dales, then you have found the right place. As dog owners ourselves we take great pride in offering our cozy pub and hotel to similarly considerate dog owners.

The Redmire Village Pub is central to some of the finest walking in England, so it’s natural to want your four legged friend to stretch their legs too, and we extend a warm welcome to them, whether that’s with a sup of Redmire’s finest water, a treat from behind the bar, a warm spot by the fire, or an overnight stay in one our dog-friendly rooms.

DOG-FRIENDLY DINING

We have three dog-friendly areas, so you can bring your dog with you for a meal at the pub, However, when we’re busy, they do tend to get filled up rather quickly;

The tables are in the bar, lounge, and always outside—that is, “not in the main restaurant.” We’re sure you understand.

When you book a table, please let us know you’re bringing a dog so we can accommodate you.

DOG-FRIENDLY ROOMS

We have three dog-friendly rooms at Redmire Village Pub, and they too do tend to get booked up rather quickly;

The Garden Rooms 3, 4, and 5.

Rates are £25 per stay to cover cleaning costs.

We supply your pup, with a bed, blanket, towel, bowls, treats, and poop bags.

DAVE’S RULES FOR DOGS AT RVP

  • We welcome well behaved dogs, but your owners are still 100% responsible for your actions.

  • Collars and leads must be worn ( & optional doggy Barbour jackets) when in the pub or gardens.

  • No dogs allowed in the main restaurant — that’s the bit with the carpet.

  • No pups under the age of 12 months can stay overnight.

  • Only two “small to medium-sized” dogs (up to 25kg) allowed in each dog-friendly room, or one larger dog.

  • No jumping on the beds or seating with dirty paws in the hotel rooms (Please do bring your bed and seating covers if you can’t be trusted to stay on the floor), in the bar just be a good dog and stay down.

  • No howling or barking or you will be asked to go and sit and stay in your car, or somewhere else.

  • Poop bags and specially designated poop bins must be used.

Now the really serious bit for our overnight guest’s owners:

  1. A damage deposit of £250 will be held on a credit card of your choice. Typically this amount is held for up to 3 days by the credit card company. If you are paying cash, then we will require payment of this amount in full. If you are paying cash, then we will need to do a room inspection prior to your departure.

  2. Any damage found after your departure will be photographed, date-stamped, and emailed to you within 24 hours of your stay. Spoilage and damage charges will be applied to your account per clause below. The amount will be held back from the damage deposit held; if this is not sufficient, then you will be sent an invoice for the remaining amount. The amount should be paid within seven days of your departure.

  3. We would strongly recommend not leaving your dog in our bedrooms unattended, from past experience if your dog frets in your absence then they sometimes decide to scratch or chew items in our rooms.

Dave visits all the way from Bend, Oregon, USA, and brings his and the pubs owners with him.
